When people still enjoy glorious colors in down south, the winter has been here for a while. Except some resident birds, most of them have left Victoria Island. One of the resident birds is ptarmigan, it is changing its summer plumage into winter one.
Another animal recently I encountered is Arctic ground squirrel, this adorable creature habitat at the northernmost American continent. Its Inuit name is Sik sik and hide was used as clothing material in past by Copper Inuit. I met this little fat guy at Doris North Camp site , around 150 km the south of Cambridge Bay cross Queen Maud Gulf on American Continent.
